They died for freedom
They died for their families
They died for their country
They died for their fellow soldiers.
Strength, courage and might
Came from one man; young or old
Who joined many
to defended the land.
They fought on land and sea,
In the air and in the deep.
Blood and tears were shed
Both for spouses and fellow soldiers
The men and women who have gone out to sacrifice their lives
Should always be remembered.
The living today,
The veteran who understands all the agony and tears.
The veteran who has really felt true pain and sorrow.
The veteran who has magnificent stories to tell
Of victory on the front
But ghostly memories linger behind the words he utters
of the one or two that fell.
God looks after his soldiers,
The young and old who march off to battle.
God looks after the families who miss them dearly.
He looks after the little children who just wait for their mommies or daddies to come home.
And when they do it is a joyous sight to see.
Hugs and kisses for everyone.
Just glad to be home and free.
But we remember the heroes
From the second World War to Vietnam
Pray for the families who have lost their loved ones.
Husband or wife.
Son or daughter.
Never let them be forgotten

FACT: Memorial Day is not to be confused with Veterans Day; Memorial Day is a day of remembering the men and women who died while serving, while Veterans Day celebrates the service of all U.S. military veterans, living or dead.[4]
